Beginning Prepared Edge and Raw Edge Appliqué

In this 3-hour workshop for the beginning quilter, participants will be introduced to Prepared Edge and Raw Edge appliqué.  Choose the technique that suits you and one of the two projects, pictured below.

Prepared Edge appliqué has turned edges using starch or glue and is finished by hand or machine. Raw Edge appliqué uses fusible web and is finished by machine.

In this workshop students will learn several methods of appliqué:

  • Freezer paper with starch,
  • Soluble stabilizer and glue, and
  • Fusible web raw edge.

The class will also cover the basics of stitching appliqué by machine.

AAQG President Meghan Gerety will teach the class.  She has many years of experience and loves appliqué!  In her own work, Meghan uses multiple methods including needle turn, fused, and prepared edge techniques with freezer paper and water-soluble stabilizer.

Class Fee:  $ FREE
