2026 QUILTFEST CHECK IN/CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS

ARE YOUR QUILTS READY?

Rules

    • Quilts must be clean and in good condition.
    • Quilts must be completely enclosed in a pillowcase or fabric bag to protect it from damage and keep it clean. Please, NO pool noodles or other objects to fold/roll your quilt.  
    • In permanent ink, label your bag with your name, address and phone number. 
    • Attach a label to the quilt back; preferably the lower left corner as you look at the back.
    • The label must include, at minimum, your name and the quilt name.  You may include any other information you want to share.
    • If your quilt is being judged, the quilt label must be completely covered with a piece of fabric or painter’s tape.  The fabric may be basted or safety-pinned. Label coverings will be removed after judging.
    • Sleeves:  Your quilt must have a sleeve attached 1” from the top edge. The finished sleeve should be at least 4” wide for large and medium quilts and 3” for small and miniature quilts. Instructions to make a sleeve can be found on the on the AAQG website. (How to make a sleeve)

CHECK IN

When:  Tuesday, August 18, 2024, between 7 am and 2 pm. No quilts will accepted after 2:00 PM.

Where:  Main Lobby - Palmer Events Center - 900 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704. You may park briefly in the circle drive by the main doors while you check in your quilts. Do NOT block the drive.
    • We will attach a card to your bag that includes the quilt number, your name and the quilt name.
    • You will see and sign your quilt sign. 
    • Upon completing check-in, you will receive a yellow receipt (claim check). This claim check is mandatory for pick-up.

CHECK OUT

When:  Pick up your quilt on August 23, 2026 from 5 pm. to 6 pm.
Where: Palmer Events Center- 900 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704

    • Bring the claim receipt for each quilt you are picking up.
    • Find the person in the lobby who is handing out the numbers. 
    • Take-a-number upon arrival for pick up to enter the queue at check-out.
    • Listen for your number to be called.
    • Entrants may NOT remove their quilts directly from display. Quilts will be removed by AAQG volunteers.
