AAQG Spring Retreat
In 2000, the Guild offered its first retreat. The event is held at a facility that provides room and board as well as a large meeting room. The meeting room is set up with table space for each participant and common use tables for cutting, marking, basting or other quilting needs. Participants bring their own projects to work on during the retreat, and everyone works at their own pace. Merchandise is often donated by quilt-related businesses and is distributed at the retreat as door prizes. There may also be a few optional activities such as mini-workshops. Some times the retreat is simply a chance to get together and sew with your friends. The retreat fee covers room, board, supplies and administrative services required to coordinate the retreat. Confirmation letters, maps and suggested supplies to bring are sent out approximately one month prior to the retreat.
